
Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young (born on 19 February 1970)[1she is an American actress, producer and performer, most well-known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In 2014, the Critics' Choice Television awarded her with the Top Supporting Actress award in a Drama Series. In addition, she starred on the Fox series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young's acting career began with theatre. Her Broadway debut on Broadway in the year 1997 in the role of Mary in The Life's initial cast. Additionally to the Broadway debut, she has played Mary off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical You Roll Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). She made her TV debut in the role of The Dr. Courtney Evans in 1995 on the NBC soap opera Another World soap opera. She appeared in two parts on Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 , she made her debut in film with tiny roles in the crime drama Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. The mid-2000s saw her was able to appear on a number of comedy and drama television showslike The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young has had more than 30 appearances on TV series between 2000 and 2011.
